Although Carport racking does not support bifacial modules, fixed tilt racking can be used to create a carport structure.
Creating Carport Structures
Draw the Field Segment where the carport will be built. Select Fixed Tilt Racking from the racking dropdown. Next, the mechanical details are set to match the racking product. For example, set a frame size of 5 x 1, with minimal row spacing and centered alignment. Set the Racking Height for how far the structure will be off the ground. The field segment will be filled with modules based on tilt and dimensions. If modules aren't correctly aligned, use the “Align Modules to Click” functionality to align the carport above the right location.
To create additional carports, copy and paste the initial carport to build additional structures.
Rows of Carports
When installing evenly spaced rows of modules, it can be helpful to use fixed tilt racking to create rows that each have their own plane using Frames. Frame spacing determines the size of the array. In the example below, a frame size of 4 up will yield arrays that are 4 modules high. Now that we have the frame size set, it can be left as 4 by 1, or the value set for a larger number, like 4 by 40. Using 4 by 1 will allow the edge of the field segment to drive the size of the array. Now that the frame size has been set, select a row spacing to get our regular space in between our carport arrays. For example, this array has a row spacing set to 26 feet:
