Tracker Specifications in the Designer
When setting the azimuth, think of the azimuth as the direction of the axis that trackers will rotate around. An azimuth value of 180° will result in the modules rotating to the east and west.
For module orientation, the modules will be oriented based on the rotational axis rather than the azimuth. For example, for a system with an azimuth value of 180°, the module orientation will be based on the modules facing east/west.
Tracker Specifications in the Condition Set
The image below reflects the concept of Backtracking, which involves rotating the trackers to follow the sun during the day while flattening out when the sun is low to avoid shading adjacent rows. Note that this feature is not visually represented in the HelioScope designer.
Maximum Angle is the maximum tilt in either direction the panels can achieve from their horizontal position during tracking.
To adjust this, users can toggle backtracking on/off and set the maximum angle in the Condition Set Trackers tab:
