Datasheet Uploads
New modules (panels), inverters, microinverters and optimizers can be added to HelioScope if they are not yet in our database. For product upload, please send a specification sheet from the manufacturer to us via email at support@helioscope.com. The upload process takes a few business days as we manually translate the spec sheet to a format for our HelioScope database.
For component updates or corrections, specification sheets should only be sent if they significantly affect the output of a simulation. If updates are small enough that they do not affect production, they can be handled on a case-by-case basis. Further details on updating components can be found on the Corporate Component Uploads help page. If a correction is needed, please send us an email at support@helioscope.com.
Note: In HelioScope, we currently do not model Rapid Shutdown Devices (RSD) and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), which include Hybrid Inverters.
Inverter Derates
If a derated inverter needs to be simulated, please provide an OND file with the needed specifications and our team will add the custom component to your private library. Note we are unable to edit the OND file, so the derate will need to already be present.
PAN / OND File Uploads
Users can manually upload Modules via PAN Files and Inverters via OND Files directly to their team's library. HelioScope can also automatically upload PAN files from PVsyst from version 6.4 and later directly on the Module Library Page.
Please note that OND files upload is currently for Inverters only. For Microinverter upload, please send the specification sheet to support@helioscope.com.
Updating PAN / OND Files to Version 6.4 or Later
If you have a file from an older version of PVsyst, the PAN/OND file will need to be updated to a newer version for upload it. Note the steps below to update a PAN and OND file for upload to HelioScope.
A. File Requirements
- PAN and OND files must be saved with a version of PVsyst 6.4 or later.
- PAN and OND files must be saved so they are not backward compatible. If the file is backward compatible, it will not be able to be imported into HelioScope.
B. Diagnosing PAN and OND Files
To understand the version of PVsyst used to create the PAN or OND file, open the file in a raw text editor such as Notepad, Text Editor, or Sublime Text.
Opening a correctly formatted file will show something similar to this:
Whereas opening an incorrectly-formatted file will look like this:
C. Converting PAN Files
-
Open the PAN or OND file in the most recent version of PVsyst. If you do not have the most recent version, update the program before altering any files.
- Once the file is uploaded within PVsyst, change the file name to something that reflects the updated version. We recommend including the version it was saved within the name (in this example we added _6.4 to the end of the file name).
- Once the file name has been changed, you can then save the file, but make sure that your file is not backward compatible. This will prompt you to save your file as a new file. Save the file to a common location where it can be easily identified, and make sure that you uncheck the box that says “Make compatible with old versions of PVsyst.”
