What is a DAE file?
A DAE file is a Digital Asset Exchange file format that can be used by 3D applications and imported into PVsyst as a Shade Scene.
How to Export DAE Files
To export a DAE file in HelioScope Classic, click on the Exports in the Design tab. Select PVsyst Export (.dae).
In HelioScope New Experience, click the Overview section from the Project Configuration tab. Select PVsyst Export.zip file in the Project Files Exporter section.
NOTE: Only Keepouts and Field Segments are exported. Tree Keepouts are currently excluded.
PVsyt Export File Structure
DAE files are downloaded as compressed .zip files and contain at least two .dae files. One file includes modules; the other has setback, field segment, and Keepout data. With larger designs, the compressed .zip file will contain more .dae files with additional module data. To upload the shade scene to PVsyst, the files will need to be imported sequentially, starting with the file name ending in "_0.dae". When the upload is complete in PVsyst, the entire shade scene will be stitched together.

Size Limitations
DAE file export is only available for designs with a nameplate under 15MW DC. Large designs with over 15,000 modules can encounter difficulties, making importing into PVsyst slow or impossible. Unless designing very simple arrays, it is best to break designs into easily manageable blocks using separate designs.
Project Exports
PVsyst Export can be included as one of the Design Files exported automatically for all team members. This can be selected via the Account Settings Team Overview page. More details on the Project Files Exporter can be found here.
